A romantic drama film that spans decades but begins in the late 1960’s when Kristofer a young Icelandic man studying at the London School of Economics shares with friends his dissatisfaction with the program and accepts their challenge to take a job as a dishwasher in a Japanese restaurant in London. Kristofer becomes adept at this and also learns to prepare Japanese food while falling in love with the chef’s daughter Miko. When Kistofer returns to the restaurant from a holiday, he discovers that the chef has closed the restaurant and taken Miko with him with no forwarding address.
